The Snow Queen Auditions

Intermediate I through Advanced Level dancers must audition for parts on Friday September 12 @ 5-7 pm with those interested in performing on pointe staying until 7:30 pm. Audition fee is $20

FRCBA’s The Snow Queen will be performed at the Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 20, with the dress rehearsal in the theatre on Friday, Dec. 19.

Performance Fees:

Non-refundable - 1⁄2 due by Sept. 21, remainder due by Nov. 1 (dates negotiable if discussed with Director ahead of time);

work-study and/or scholarships available for those with financial need – please discuss with Director

These fees cover your use of FRCBA costumes as well as all of your rehearsal time, plus one T-shirt.

1 Piece - $175 2 Pieces - $250 3 Pieces - $300

Classical Variations (only for those in Variations classes) - $100

Additional Fee of $50 if choosing not to do Volunteer work to support the production

Additional T-Shirts - $25 each

Each of the following options counts as 1 piece:

Nutcracker Marzipan – will perform with LDA Nutcracker

(must be available for theatre rehearsals Nov. 29 & performances Dec.6-7 & Dec. 20)

Dances accompanied by live cellists – Opportunities to Choreograph for Int/Adv Dancers!

(must be available for rehearsals Nov.30 & performances Dec. 7 & Dec. 20)

Open Mic Night

FRCBA and our associated non-profit D.A.N.C.E. hosts a yearly Open Mic / Open Floor event at the studio. This event provides an opportunity to share music, poetry, dance, short skits, and more in an informal and friendly atmosphere. These events also serve as fundraisers for the non-profit and all of the great work provided through the organization. We always have many Silent Auction offerings, including private lessons, tailor-made leotards and skirts, and a wide variety of other items available for bidding. FRBCA Summer Intensive

This week-long intensive August 4-9 provides dancers ages 12+ at an intermediate to advanced level of ballet training with the opportunity to work with several guest instructors who will share their wealth of experience and knowledge with our students.  This year we have Robert Sher-Machherndl returning to teach Ballet Technique & Contemporary Movement Choreography on Tues, Thurs and Fri; Amy Buxton guesting on Friday to teach ballet technique, pointe, and a conditioning class designed to address specific injury-prone body parts with which our dancers are struggling; Kathleen Vreeland to teach Ballet Technique and Pointe on Monday & Wednesday; Eliza Moore to teach Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT); Christina Vink with a class on Injury Prevention; Quentin Golden to introduce the fun of Jazz; and Ixchel Levendosky teaching how to work as a Corps de Ballet with excerpts from one of the classical ballets.
