Who are we?

Dance Arts Network and Continuing Education (DANCE) is a non-profit foundation created in 1996 to provide new outlets and opportunities for the dance community, including teaching dance, multicultural exposure, and dance scholarships.

Mission Statement

DANCE provides access to the healing powers of dance through opportunities for creative expression, expanded audiences and collaboration among dance and other non-profit organizations in Colorado.

Vision

Dance has the capacity to foster healing, to build connection, understanding and social change.

Who we serve

DANCE strives to make classical ballet performance and practice available to marginalized or financially disadvantaged communities including but not limited to People of Color, LBGTQ+ Communities, those experiencing homelessness, at risk youth, at risk women, immigrants, refugees, and low income families and students.

What we believe

We believe classical ballet supports physical, mental, and emotional healing to those who participate in classes, or view performances.

We believe everyone should have access to an inclusive, supportive dance environment and dance performances.

How we connect with our community

We partner with community organizations such as libraries, schools, farmer’s markets, and senior centers to bring free performances to audiences who might not otherwise view dance.

We provide need-based scholarships and work-study opportunities to allow students to take classes at FRCBA.

We develop programs which use dance and movement to develop life-long skills such as self-discipline, social-emotional learning and self-expression for a range of ages.

The Heartbeat ballet

The Heartbeat Ballet is a semi-professional dance company that works as part of DANCE to bring performances to the community. The artists of The Heartbeat Ballet are a small group of classically trained dancers seeking to blend contemporary movements with the precision of classical technique in order to express and reach a deeper side of humanity.

The Heartbeat Ballet performs in many non-traditional spaces. If you have a school, community center, nursing home, coffee shop, or other venue and are interested in scheduling a performance with us, please reach out to frcballet@gmail.com for more information.
